A man was flown to the hospital after his vehicle slammed into a home, sparking a fire in Campbell County on Friday.

The incident happened in the 11400 block of Burns Road in California, Kentucky, late in the afternoon.

According to Campbell County’s assistant fire chief, a driver was backing out of a driveway, hit a tree and lost control of his vehicle. The driver then tried to come back up the hill and ended up slamming into the side of a home.
Air Care flew the driver to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. His condition remains unknown at this time.
Fire officials said there is a lot of smoke damage throughout the house, as well as structural damage to the home. There was a fire in one room that was caused from the vehicle, but fire officials said it was contained.
No one inside the home was injured.
According to the assistant fire chief, damage is estimated to be around $150,000.
Three fire departments responded to the scene.
