In view of the NEET 2020 examinations which are being conducted across the country on September 13, the Odisha state government has made elaborate arrangements to facilitate free transportation and accommodation for candidates appearing for the entrance.

The examination is being conducted in several centres all across the country. There are a total of 83 centres in the state with a total of 37,459 candidates appearing for the entrance test this Sunday i.e. September 13.

State-run buses will be available to facilitate free movement of candidates and their guardians from different districts to the examination centres. The examinations will be conducted from 11 am to 5 pm in strict adherence to health safety protocols to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.

Thermal screening at NEET 2020 centres

Several safety measures have been put into place by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and state government at the NEET examination centres to ensure that the students are safe and there is no risk of infection among them.

Patnaik said candidates will have to undergo thermal screening before entering the centres in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Angul, Berhampur, Rourkela, Balasore and Sambalpur. There are special trains also being run by the East Coast Railway for NEET aspirants.

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has arranged accommodation for NEET candidates and their parents at five engineering colleges here. Medical teams will be deployed at the colleges where students and their guardians will stay before the examination, BMC Commissioner P C Chaudhury said.
