One80 Launches Transportation Threat Protect Program for Commercial Auto Operations

One80 Intermediaries (One80), a national wholesale insurance broker and program manager headquartered in Boston, has launched the Transportation Threat Protect (TTP) program.

TTP was designed to protect commercial drivers and transport operations from the growing risk of hijack, kidnap, malicious detention and extortion on the border between the USA and Mexico. The insurance program offers risk mitigation, reimbursement of ransom costs, public relations support and access to a crisis management consultancy as required.

Transportation Threat Protect can help firms to mitigate risk with online training designed to help the operation and the employees avoid being a target. Access to a global security center and crisis consultants are also available if needed to help manage an incident to safe resolution.

Additionally, financial protection provided through this program includes ransom costs, employee salary expenses, travel, accommodation, medical costs and psychiatric care. Public relations support to manage and minimize any reputational damage to

Couple recruits minority investors into Auto Lab family

“The state of Illinois is prime for our expansion model as we are targeting communities that are in need of economic empowerment, job creation and where there is a great need for quality car repair work … ” Mr. Fullmer said, noting the average age of cars in some key cities is approaching 12 years.

Ms. Lewis-Fullmer said she and her husband are “committed to creating the ultimate franchising opportunity,” with an emphasis on recruiting minority businesspeople into this field.

“Black entrepreneurs have thrived in franchising for years and are choosing this route over founding traditional small businesses at a faster rate than the broader population,” she said.

“Government data show a substantial jump in the number of black-owned businesses from 2007 to 2012, from 1.9 million to 2.6 million. Statistics also show that 30.8% of franchise businesses were owned by minorities, while non-franchised businesses have nearly 19% minority ownership.”

Car Shipping Quotes Calculator | Direct Express Auto Transport

The Eastern Seaboard states are generally considered to be New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Nearly one third of the country lives in the states bordering the Atlantic, which obviously means a lot of car shipping traffic.

New York is like a tale of two cities. The Big Apple is America’s largest city and its positive effect on car shipping extends into northern New Jersey, southern Connecticut and eastern Pennsylvania. Upstate New York has far more in common with New England, a mixed bag when it comes to vehicle shipping quotes.

Almost all of New Jersey is accessible except south of Atlantic City. In Delaware, it is Wilmington or bust, as southeast of there is exceedingly difficult for car shipping services. How much to ship a car there depends on exactly where? Most transportation services cringe at the prospect

Auto Warranties & Routine Maintenance

If you own a car, you know how important it is to keep up with routine maintenance and repairs. But can a dealer refuse to honor the warranty that came with your new car if someone else does the routine maintenance or repairs?

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation’s consumer protection agency, says no. In fact, it’s illegal for a dealer to deny your warranty coverage simply because you had routine maintenance or repairs performed by someone else. Routine maintenance often includes oil changes, tire rotations, belt replacement, fluid checks and flushes, new brake pads, and inspections. Maintenance schedules vary by vehicle make, model and year; the best source of information about routine scheduled maintenance is your owner’s manual.

What is a warranty?

A warranty is a promise, often made by a manufacturer, to stand behind its product or to fix certain defects or malfunctions over a period of

CA tells insurers to return some premiums, including auto insurance, due to COVID-19

California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara on Monday ordered insurers to refund some premiums to help provide financial relief to businesses and consumer during the coronavirus pandemic.

Lara’s bulletin impacts insurance lines with a decreased risk of loss due to the crisis, including private passenger and commercial automobile, workers’ compensation, commercial multi-peril and liability, and medical malpractice, according to a news release from the commissioner’s office.

The order would cover premiums for at least March and April, and could extend through May if statewide stay-at-home restrictions remain in place.

“With Californians driving fewer miles and many businesses closed due to the COVID-19 emergency, consumers need relief from premiums that no longer reflect their present-day risk of accident or loss,” Lara said in the release. “Today’s mandatory action will put money back in people’s pockets when they need it most.”

Under the bulletin, insurance companies would have to provide a premium credit,
